11His Older Brother Is His Greatest Influence

Mikey may be a strong leader on his own, but there was once a person that he admired and influenced him to lead the life he lives now. Mikey’s late older brother, Shinichiro, has only been seen once in the anime, but his presence hada huge impact on Mikey, and in turn, the entire series.

Shinichiro was the reason behind many of Mikey’s core interests, hobbies, and ideologies. It’s definitely possible that fans will learn even more about this mysterious brother’s past later in the series as a look into Mikey’s heart.

9Takemichi Is His Hero

For a while, Mikey made it clear that the only person he looked up to was himself. However, it is by the third season that Mikey reveals that he considers Takemichi his hero. Just like his older brother, Shinichiro, Takemichi is a golden-hearted hero who tries to save the day even if hisopponents clearly have the upper hand.

In Mikey’s eyes, a hero is someone who at least tries to save the day; whether they succeed isn’t as important. Takemichi had the same unwavering determination as Shinichiro, making him a hero in the eyes of the unstoppable Mikey.

Tokyo Revengers Mikey & Chifuyu

Nearing the end of the Tenjiku arc, Takemichi breaks down to a confused Mikey. Unable to hold in his guilt and the ever-growing pressure of holding everyone’s future in his hands, Takemichi finally confides in Mikey and reveals to him hisability to travel through time. Until this point, the only other main character (aside from Naoto) Takemichi had told about his time leap ability was his trusty partner, Chifuyu, whom he decided to team up with all the way back in season one.

Tokyo Revengers Emma Feeding Mikey Sweets

7He Has A Sweet Tooth

A huge part of Mikey’s overall charm is his childlike attitude. Just like a carefree child, Mikey often enjoysindulging in sugary sweets; namely traditional Japanese pastries. Mikey’s favorite desserts are of course his beloved dorayaki (that he sulks over after accidentally dropping it from his mouth during a fight) and taiyaki.

Mikey seems to really love azuki (sometimes spelled “adzuki”) bean paste as dorayaki is a pastry that consists of two pancake-like patties that sandwich sweet azuki bean paste in the middle. His second favorite, taiyaki, also uses sweet adzuki bean paste as a filling, stuffed inside a fish-shaped pastry.

6There Is No One He Looks Up To, Other Than Himself

While it may sound a bit egotistical at first, Mikey is one of the few people out there thatcan truly back up all the big talkhe’s capable of. According to the first official character book, Mikey fears no one and respects and admires himself. Everyone in the Tokyo Manji Gang has someone they look up to, and for most, it’s their leader, Mikey (and for good reason).

Mikey may be a bit unhinged at times, but considering the trauma and hardships he’s gone through, he’s a rather strong character, mentally and physically. Despite being a bit broken on the inside, Mikey still fights on and has no intentions of showing any weaknesses. While even the big bad, Draken looks up to Toman leader Mikey, Mikey doesn’t consider anyone else above him.
