The story is set to follow the godly hero Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) as his retirement from saving the world is cut short because hemust battle Gorr the God Butcher(played by Christian Bale), a villain who sets out to eradicate the gods. The most recent look is an image released by Marvel Studios directly fromThor: Love and Thunderdepicting Thompson’s Valkyrieand Portman’s Jane Foster as they sit side by side in extravagant chairs, which seem like they may be some sort of throne but nothing has been confirmed yet. It also looks like Portman has now taken her place as a God of Thunder, and the actress is sporting the physique to match her new title as The Mighty Thor. It also looks like Thompson’s character is equipped with some new armor that is colored black and white, which happens to be the same color scheme as Gorr the God Butcher as well.

The new photos that surfaced on Twitter have caused fans to not only gush over the actresses' beauty but for them to formulate new theories about what this may mean in the grand scope of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Peering closer at the image, it’s clear that Portman’s character is sitting above what appears to be Bast, a panther god worshipped by the people of Wakanda and seen in theBlack Pantherfilmand also alluded to in Marvel Studios' most recent mini-series,Moon Knight. This Easter egg has caused fans to speculate that there might be acloser connection betweenThor: Love and Thunder,Moon Knight, andBlack Pantherthat’s greater than the fact they all fight to save the Earth from bad guys.

While none of the fan speculations has been confirmed yet,aMoon Knightwriterpreviously teased the possibility of a connection between the two pieces of MCU media. So hopefully later this summer amidst the release of theThor: Love and Thunderthese fan-fueled theories will be confirmed, and any further fan questions will be answered.
