With the world in a current state of semi-lockdown and irritation, it’s a rife time for streamers and viewers to gather online to play some games. With aheavy increase of players using Twitch, this also leads to more “heated gaming moments” for the viewing audience.

This incident of rage formulated in a streamer’s physical assault on their own hardware following some issues. This streamer was Twitch partnered Quirkitized whose anger got the best of him while playingWreckfest, aracing game with an ironic emphasis on destruction.

Quirkitized was struggling with some of his hardware, particularly his non-functioning mouse. Over the 25 minute stream, viewers could see his frustration rising with each instance of hardware failures. It eventually came to a boiling point once Quirkitized finally unloaded on the malfunctioning pieces of tech that lay before him. He said before the big moment: “Nothing F#cking responds when I use this game.” After three small knocks of his mouse on the table, he winds up his arm and slams his mouse into his keyboard. Three swings later accompanied by pieces of equipment flying, the audio is taken out as Quirkitized walks off camera.

As it would with Twitch, the chat reacted frantically to this incident with one user claiming “that sounded expensive.” The stream ended abruptly after the outburst but it was only a short time before he returned toWreckfestthat day. The second April 18 stream opened with Quirkitized noting that he had to “find a new keyboard and mouse.” Following that zinger to get the chat going, the streamer said regarding his hardware that “they don’t make them like they used to, you know? They just stop working after a while.” Quirkitized has received no punishment for the outburst which continues the usual trend ofTwitch’s strange application of policies on the platform.

It’s no surprise that frustrations are high with the current global situation but sometimes it is worth taking a breather. While Quirkitized didn’t go the usual route ofsaying something grossly offensive in his anger, breaking your own hardware is still a tad excessive. He has now returned to regular streaming moving past his outburst and returning to virtual racing.
