Red Dead Onlinegives players the opportunity to exploreRockstar Games' take on the Old Westalongside friends. However, there’s also a good opportunity for antagonist behavior within the game.
Chances are, the averageRed Dead Onlineplayer has encountered another person who wanted to ruin their day, or at least their in-game progress. This particular case of trolling isn’t quite that serious, but it is gross.

Over on theRed Dead Onlinesubreddit, user Bananabob14173 shared a short video of their character sitting at a campfire with a few others beside them. They’re attempting to cook meat over the fire, when one of the people sitting next to them takes advantage of the situation. The player to the left of Bananabob14173 casually spits in the direction of the meat as they’re cooking it. If there were any thought that it was a mistake, the second player quickly corrects it, as Bananabob14173 takes another piece of pork out and begins cooking it, just for them to repeat the action. He then finishes cooking and stares suspiciously at the pork.
Of course, no real harm is actually being done here. Spitting is a commonemote inRed Dead Online, and while it may be repulsive to use it in this manner, it doesn’t actually impact the cooking or food. The comments quickly revealed that it was a bit of fun between friends in the game, and it definitely amused, with others commenting about the way Bananabob14173 studies the meat after it’s been spat on.
Thankfully, this use of the spit emote is totally harmless. The emote has the potential to be distressing if used in certain ways, and it’s not limited toRed Dead Online. In fact,World of Warcraftplayers lost their own version of a spit emotefor a period of time as Blizzard pulled several emotes that were being used to harass or grief others. It’s since been restored, but its temporary removal was a choice that didn’t go over well with many of the game’s audience, including streamer Asmongold.
While many players are dissatisfied with the current state ofRed Dead Onlineand Rockstar Games' lack of updates, videos like this one highlight that players continue to enjoy living theposse life inRed Dead Onlinewith their friends. One can hope that new content eventually comes to the multiplayer title so that players like Bananabob14173 and their crew can keep joking around in moments like these.
