Fortnite’s latest season has kicked off this week after many teases from Epic Games. The 7th season ofFortniteis indeed alien-themed, with it being dubbed “Invasion” this time around. Considering that last season was “Primal,” this new theme is definitely a 180 for the live service battle royale game. Not only does the new season add a new battle pass full of exciting new skins, but there are a bunch of new futuristic weapons for players to find as well, such as the Pulse Rifle and the Rail Gun.
Season 7 ofFortnitemay just have started, but some fans are already looking towards the game’s future, as in the unannounced 8th season that is all but confirmed.

When Is Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 Coming Out
Epic Games has not outright said when season 8 ofFortnitewould be coming, as the dev team has had to roll out season 7 and continue to update and patch the game. However, thebattle pass for season 7has a confirmed end date on the officialFortnitewebsite, and that date is three months from now.Season 7 of Fortnite will come to an end on Sunday, June 21, 2025. As always, fans can expect the next season to start just a few hours after the servers go down once season 7 wraps up. This means that whatever season 8’s theme happens to be, it’ll more than likely kick off on Monday, September 13.
Since there’s a good amount of time until the next season comes, players can earn XP and work their way through the battle pass by completing some of the weekly Fortnite quests and challenges. For the first week of the new season, players have to collect Alien Artifacts, collect stones from The Aftermath, collect three different IO tech weapons, and a few more tasks.
Battle Stars have also been re-introduced intoFortniteand are rewarded to players for leveling up. Gamers can then use these stars to unlock items on the battle pass they want instead of waiting through the linear path of rewards. This allows players to do as they wish to make sure they can quickly get the items and costumes that they actually want to use. Hopefully, fans will be happy with this change to the battle pass, and Epic Games continues to update the game with more quality of life features like this one.
Fortniteis currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
