The Realm of Shadow is a huge map, and exploring it to find crafting materials andScadutree Fragmentshould be at the top of every player’s list. One common crafting material players will be in need of is the Ember of Messmer, which is surprisingly more common to find than many may think.
Where To Farm Embers Of Messmer In Shadow Of The Erdtree
Embers of Messmer arefound throughout Scadu Altusandappear as small red flames lying on the ground but not burning. They do offer a light red glow making them very easy to notice when exploring at night. Throughout Scadu Altus, they are most commonly found along major roads or throughout enemy encampments. AnyEmber of Messmerfound on the ground will respawn when players rest at a Site of Grace, making farming very easy once you know where to find a few.
Embers of Messmer can also be found on a few bodies as loot throughout the Shadow Keep but due to their regularity throughout the world, it’s best to find them in respawnable locations. For a few easy Embers of Messmer, fast-travel to theMoorith Ruins Site of Grace and follow the main road north while riding on Torrent. Following this path to the next fork in the road will give players six Embers, with more being found in the enemy campsite just across the road from the Site of Grace. Fast-travel back to the Moorith Ruins grace to rest and respawn, offering dozens of Embers in a few minutes.
Embers of Messmer are also a possible drop from enemies that are on firesuch as the fire dogs that are often found with soldiers or burning skeletonsfound in the church section of the Shadow Keep passed through when trying toget to the back gate of the Shadow Keep. While there are a few methods for obtaining Embers of Messmer, the best will always be picking them up off the ground.

Embers of Messmer areused to craft fire-based consumablesthat were added with the DLC, with the most notablebeing Hefty Furnace Potsthat are used to kill Furnace Golems. The major recipes that require Embers of Messmer are:
