Less than a day after the patch went live,World of Warcraftshared a development blog revealing what is in store for them in Patch 10.0.7. Players will return to the Forbidden Reach in a new chapter involving the lore of the dracthyr and the Primalists, serving as a bridge betweenthe story ofDragonflightand Patch 10.1. The Recruit a Friend program is refreshing its rewards, and the Monk class will become available to Goblins, Lightforged Draenei, and Worgen. Lastly, Orc and Human characters got a first look at the Heritage Armor sets coming in the patch.
Players knew most of these features were coming thanks tothe roadmapWorld of Warcraftshared in late 2022. According to its tentative schedule, Patch 10.0.7 is set to arrive in the spring, with Patch 10.1 coming some time in late spring or early summer. Players can safely expect this new content update to arrive in March or April, and will be coming to the Public Test Realm very soon.
Though players are understandably excited about the new story content, much of the initial discussion was on the newly-revealed Heritage Armor sets. Orc players couldn’t help but notice the armor reminded them of Blackhand’s original design fromWarcraft 2, and that the Human armor set looked similar to Varian Wrynn’s gear. These detailed sets will make greatadditions to theirWorld of Warcrafttransmog collections.
However, some players were a little disappointed with the new Heritage Armor sets. There are already several variations of the iconic Human footman andOrc grunt designs inWorld of Warcraft. Rather than better-quality versions of these looks, many were hoping for more unique looks inspired by Durotan’s wolf shawl or Anduin’s priest or travel garb. Hopefully the Trading Post will allowWorld of Warcraftto give players outfits inspired by these ideas in the future.
