WoW: The War Within Pre-Expansion Content Update Notes
Big changes arrive with the introduction of Warbands, Skyriding, class and system updates, and more with the pre-expansion content update. Take part in a new event, Radiant Echoes, and begin your first steps into the continuing story that will take you into the unexplored depths of Azeroth.
RADIANT ECHOES PRE-EXPANSION EVENT
From July 30 to August 26, confront the memories of Azeroth during the new pre-expansion event and collect Residual Memories to purchase new items to add to your Warband collection.
Players who have reached level 70 will receive an introductory quest and then will be directed to visit Dalaran to start. Players under level 70 will be immediately directed to Dalaran.
The event occurs in four stages and cycles between three zones. Portals in Dalaran will be available to take you directly to the event staging area and a return portal is available in each of the event zones so that players can quickly return to Dalaran and head into the next occurrence of the event. When the event is active in a zone, the portal will have an additional golden glow to indicate that it is active.
Players will be able to accumulate Residual Memories to use to purchase items from various vendors in each of the zones. The rewards that can be earned in this limited time event are: item level 480 equipment, 32 slot bag, 30 slot reagent bag, mounts, pets, and an heirloom ring.
GET THE BAND TOGETHER FOR WARBANDS
Expand the potential of all yourWorld of Warcraftcharacters with account-wide progression across your Battle.net® account, regardless of faction—including shared Renown, a Warband bank, Achievements, Collections, and more! To help players continue expanding their collections and style their alternate characters how they want, any character can collect any item appearance, regardless of whether they can equip the item. Class tokens from Legacy raids are also Warbound and transferable on your account. Class-specific appearances can only be collected by that specific class.
With the arrival ofThe War Within, upon first logging intoWorld of Warcraft, the Warband conversion process automatically enables many of the game’s progression systems to be account-wide. Players will not need to log into each character individually for all progression, items, etc., to convert; however, there may be a short wait for the system to completely process your Warband the first time you log in. The Warband conversion process can take up to 20 minutes or longer, and depending on the amount of data being processed, there could be a login queue.
TAKE TO THE SKIES WITH SKYRIDING
Dragonriding is here to stay and will also be available for many flying mounts in all flyable areas even prior to the launch ofThe War Within. Players will also be able to toggle between Skyriding (previously known as Dragonriding) or the flying style introduced originally in The Burning Crusade (TBC) which we’re calling Steady Flight.
