Wednesday’s ID@Xbox Showcase event went off swimmingly, with several new game announcements, surprise reveals, and all of it confirmed to be coming toXbox Game Pass. BothTunicandParadise Killer, which launched today, were revealed to beXbox Game PassDay One releases. But in addition to those two now-available games, Xbox also revealed seven additional indie games that will each be coming to Xbox Game Pass in 2022.To start, there were two brand-new indie games announced during the show that are already confirmed to be Day One releases for Xbox Game Pass. The first is a new game from auteur Sam Barlow namedImmortality. Barlow’s known for games includingTelling LiesandHer Storythat feature live-action footage andImmortalitywill be no different. The second game is namedEscape Academyand as its name implies, it’s a first-person escape room experience. To start, there is a trio of games coming from publisher Fellow Traveler, who also launchedParadise Killeron Xbox consoles and Game Pass today. Those three games are magical school simKraken Academy, adventure gameBeacon Pineswhich is equal parts cute and creepy, and sci-fi narrative RPGCitizen Sleeper.Kraken Academyarrives March 22, with the two others' release dates TBD.
That leaves two more games coming toXbox Game Pass in 2022. The first is cybernoir adventure gameChinatown Detective Agencyfrom Humble Games, with a release date TBD, andFloppy Knights.Floppy Knightsmixes tactics combat with deck building in a charming, cartoon wrapper.
Suffice to say,Xboxhas partnered with a range of exciting developers and publishers to offer a diverse selection of titles through 2022. And these are just seven new additions confirmed with Xbox Game Pass. There’s already a line-up of exciting Xbox Game Pass releases previously announced, and plenty more announcements month by month throughout the rest of the year.
Other Xbox Game Pass games featured during today’s ID@Xbox Showcase include the recently revealedFlintlock: The Siege of Dawn, from the developer ofAshen,Crusader Kings 3, which launches on Xbox Game Pass on March 29, and hints at more.
