The newest update toYu-Gi-Oh Master Duelintroduces the game’s newest Selection Pack alongside a brand-new Structure Deck, bringing more than 50 cards to the game. The digital platform for Konami’s massively popular TCG has seen plenty of major patches in recent months bringing new content. The game celebrated its first anniversary earlier this year with multiple homages to theclassicYu-Gi-Ohanime between Structure Decksand classic Monster Mates like “Kuriboh” and “Gaia the Fierce Knight.” Now, several new cards are coming to the popular digital TCG.Konami’s additions toYu-Gi-Oh Master Duelhave seen major shakeups to the digital platform’s competitive meta with powerful new themes introduced. February saw the addition of the “Spright” archetype, revolving around Level 2 Monsters and quickly becoming one of the game’s strongest decks. April welcomed the “Tearlaments” cards into the game, ushering in an era of dominance that has seen the deck rise to Tier 0 status within the TCG.Master Duel’s newest addition features a formerly TCG-exclusive Fish archetype, as well as a new deck for a popular anime theme.RELATED:Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel Leaks New Game ModeYu-Gi-Oh Master Duelintroduced the game’s newest Selection Pack, titled “The Synchronized Cosmos,” earlier this week with multiple new cards. The Selection Pack introduces the “Ghoti” archetype to the game,a Synchro Monster-focused strategywith Monsters that Special Summon themselves after being banished. The set also introduces new support for themes already in the game, including powerful Synchro Monsters like “Icejade Gymir Aegirine” and “Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon.“Master Duel’s new Selection Pack will be available to all players for just over two months.
The new update also introduces a brand-new Structure Deck featuring several debut cards for the fan-favorite “Blackwing” archetype, dubbed “Blackwing’s Pride.” The deck will receive several new Main Deck Monsters like “Blackwing - Vata the Emblem of Wandering” and the newly unbanned “Blackwing - Steam the Cloak.“Master Duel’s new Structure Deck also features two new Synchro Monsters for the deck in “Black-Winged Assault Dragon” and “Blackwing - Boreastorm the Wicked Wind.” Blackwing cards were prominently used by supporting character Crow Hoganduring theYu-Gi-Oh 5Danime.
The addition of “Ghoti” and new “Blackwing” cards come as the previously-mentioned Tearlaments deck continues to dominateYu-Gi-OhMaster Duel’s meta. The deck did receive pre-emptive banlist hits before its release, limiting and semi-limiting multiple cards from the deck ahead of itsMaster Dueldebut.The May banlist updatealso looked to address powerful staple cards the Tearlaments deck could use like “Foolish Burial Goods” and “Instant Fusion.” A plethora of new cards will look to giveMaster Duelplayers more tools to combat the game’s most powerful decks.
